Spring 2022 – Women in Automotive Design, Engineering, and Technology

In 1886, Karl Benz completed the Benz-Patent Motorwagen, the first automobile powered by an internal combustion engine. Two years later, a woman became the first person to take the motorwagen on a long-distance drive. Since then, women have made significant contributions to automotive design, engineering, and technology. Throughout April, the library is showcasing some of their contributions using both print and digital technology formats.
